5 WAYS TO HAVE A VERY MERRY SUSTAINABLE CHRISTMAS ๐ŸŽ…๐ŸŽ„

23 december 2021 om 23:00:00

Ho Ho Ho! One of the most exciting holidays of the year is right around the corner. But did you realise that if you're not being conscious about your choices, Christmas could easily end up becoming one of the most WASTEFUL holidays of the year? From all those present wrappers, to Christmas trees to food waste, you name it....oh gosh!

Soooo, we thought we'd share with you 5 ways to be more eco-friendly during this festive season, so that YOU can have A VERY MERRY SUSTAINABLE CHRISTMAS. Ready? Let's go! ๐Ÿ™Œ

1. USE SUSTAINABLE GIFT WRAPS - Wrapping up presents with reusable paper of fabric is beneficial for the planet and is a perfect way to achieve a green Christmas! Upcycling paper you have in your home already, such as newspaper, is also really environmentally friendly and cost-effective. You could also try and send forest friendly or cards that can be planted, with your presents! ๐ŸŒฟ

2. XMAS TREES ARE NICE, BUT ARE THEY SUSTAINABLE? - When it comes to Christmas trees, it can be hard to be sustainable, as fake trees once thrown away break down in landfill and trees being chopped down contributes to deforestation. We would recommend trying out a rental service for trees, as it would take twenty years for your fake tree to have a green effect. If you do purchase a real fir tree, make sure to plant or compost it once Christmas is over! You could even use it as a bird feeder! ๐ŸŽ„

3. GIFTS GIFTS & MORE GIFTS! - A great way to have an eco-conscious Christmas is to buy sustainable gifts which are plastic-free! There are so many small local eco businesses you could support and purchase a gift that will have a positive impact on the planet. So make sure your Xmas presents are sustainable. not only nice for the person whom you gift it to, but also kind to the planet. ๐ŸŽ

4. FOOOOOD - With Christmas comes food. Lots of food. And with lots of food comes overconsumption and food waste, so try to minimise food waste through buying less or using a composter for leftovers. Our very own 100% organic and sustainable Earthastic food wraps are perfect for wrapping and storing leftovers to keep them fresh - 100% plastic free! ๐ŸŒฏ๐Ÿฅ—๐Ÿช

5. LOOK AMAZING IN A SUSTAINABLE OUTFIT - You can try to be eco-friendly when it comes to your Christmas and New Yearโ€™s outfit! Resist the urge to buy a sequinned outfit, which are made from PVC and are not sustainable. We recommend using Depop or Vinted if you want to purchase a preloved outfit online. Otherwise, you can buy from a charity shop, shop your own wardrobe or a friendโ€™s. You could even buy an outfit from an eco-fashion clothes store! ๐Ÿ‘—๐Ÿ’ƒ

So that's it folks! With these 5 tips, we'd like to love you and leave you to have a FANTASTIC & SUSTAINABLE Christmas with your loved ones. Greetings from Earthastic ๐Ÿ’š๐ŸŒŽ
